A Vacancy at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder should possess the skills to perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs.
Responsible for initialising, fitting and downloading 24, 48 and 72 hour, 5 and 7 day cardiac holter monitors, 24 hour blood pressure monitors independently.
Prepare and instruct patients in the use of cardiac event recorders. Download and interpret the results and prepare a report for the referring consultant.
Other skills will include basic holter monitoring analysis independently.
Support Clinical Physiologists in Exercise treadmill testing.
Has the responsibility for the day-to-day direct supervision of Cardiographers.
They are expected to participate in the day-to-day operation of the department, including any administration duties.
Involved in most aspects of physiological measurements that are carried out in the Cardio/Respiratory Department.
Member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care of cardiac patients and their families and ensuring the smooth running of daily clinics.
Remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good public relations.
Work without direct supervision in obtaining physiological data from patients from ECG recordings and observations. Maintain appropriate knowledge and skills required to record and provide first-line analysis/interpretation of results from a range of physiological procedures.
Provide accurate reports on findings from 24, 48 hour, 5 and 7 day holter analysis to analyse for basic arrhythmias and quantify findings for both ventricular and supraventricular ectopics.
Able to understand and troubleshoot significant findings and artefacts on recording ECGs and identify and utilise alternative recording technique.
Present accurate procedure results to appropriate clinical staff. To be proactive in ensuring that clinical physiologists, medical and nursing staff are aware of any abnormal results.
Obtain patient consent for procedures, ensuring correct information governance procedures are followed.
Be able to recognise a deteriorating patient and identify when to carry out and report observations e.g. pulse and BP, should a patient’s condition alter/deteriorate and summon help when needed.
