Support Worker/Personal Assistant required – My name is Robb and I was born with a genetic condition known as Angelman Syndrome which has impacted on my cognitive development and mobility which has resulted in the need for twenty four hour support. I live independently in my own flat in the Murray area of East Kilbride and currently have a team of 4 Support Workers, an opportunity has arisen to extend the team. I enjoy socialising as people fascinate me, going to the movies, sensory activities, swimming and going out for walks or in my car. I also enjoy engaging with my support workers and I am very easy going and good natured.

Permanent position subject to six-month probationary period

HOURS: Part-Time (16-20 hrs pw)

RATE OF PAY: £12.50 per hour - Dayshift, £11.50 per hour – Nightshift

Please note this salary will be subject to an increase in the National Living Wage

Driver essential and Mobility car is available, you must have a clean licence.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within his home, at day centre and in the community.

Your duties would involve administering medication, feeding, personal care, social needs and some housework.

Swimming is a favourite activity so you must be able to take him swimming. Also likes adapted sports e.g. skiing, music, sensory experiences and socialising.

Experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

Combination of the following shifts including some weekends are:

Day Shift 8.30am to 5.00pm

Back Shift 4.30pm to 10.30pm

Sleeping Night Shift 10.00pm to 9.00am
