Summary
The Education MIS is used across the Education service for the purposes of information management, executing business processes and the production of business intelligence. The Education MIS plays a key role in supporting the councils’ statutory duties in relation to safeguarding, other statutory processes and data returns.
This role will involve working closely with other team members in a busy environment both in the office for at least 2 days a week and at home to provide effective support to end users of the system.
Key Duties:
Assisting in data collection and data reconciliation from schools including communicating with schools to actively improve the data
Supporting end users of the Education MIS including fault resolution and liaising with the supplier
Performing system administration and maintenance tasks on Education MIS
Involvement in implementing new modules within the system and testing new releases
Playing a key role in the maintenance of data quality in the system including resolving issues and supporting end users to improve the accuracy of data in the system
Essential requirements:
You will have some previous experience in a similar role and have an understanding of the purpose and importance of a Management Information System
You will have range of existing ICT skills but you will be adaptable and able to learn new skills and systems quickly
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is essential.
You must be able to work to a high level of accuracy and have excellent attention to detail as maintaining data quality in the system is essential.
You must be able to work effectively as a member of a team and have excellent communication skills.
Additional information:
Experience with the Synergy system and business processes within education would be an advantage, but appropriate training will be provided
Qualifications
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (A*-C) or equivalent (the successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of these qualifications)
Hours
37 Hours per week
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Standard DBS Check
