Job Overview
We are seeking a new member of the team to join us in our Dental Laboratory. The job available will be in the Plaster Room.
Responsibilities
Prepare and mix dental plasters, stones, and other casting materials as per specifications for various dental applications.
Ensure materials are mixed to the correct consistency and free of air bubbles for accurate mold creation.
Pour and cast dental impressions to create accurate models for crowns, bridges, dentures, and other dental prosthetics.
Ensure that dental models are precise, stable, and ready for use by other members of the dental team (e.g., dental technicians, orthodontists).
Inspect and verify the quality of finished models to ensure that they meet the required standards.
Repair or remake models that do not meet specifications.
Maintain and clean all plaster room equipment, including mixing machines, vibrators, and curing units.
Regularly inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning and order repairs as necessary.
Adhere to safety protocols when handling chemicals, materials, and tools.
Follow hygiene and infection control standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Monitor and track the supply of materials, such as plaster, stone, and other casting compounds.
Notify the appropriate person when materials need to be replenished.
Work closely with dental technicians and other dental professionals to ensure models and molds meet required specifications.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow in the lab.
Maintain records of materials used, equipment maintenance, and the number of models completed.
Document any issues encountered during the creation of models and provide feedback for process improvement.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental lab or plaster room setting preferred, but not essential as full training will be given.
Familiarity with dental materials and laboratory equipment is desirable but again not essential.
