As a Cyber Security Risk Manager, you will assist the Senior Technical Lead in developing secure and highly available computing platforms, applications, and services. You will support the creation of technical product roadmaps and manage product lifecycles, ensuring alignment with DWP Strategy.

In this role, you will work closely with the Security Ecosystem team, aiding in the delivery of security-related projects and initiatives. You will ensure these projects align with security best practices and compliance requirements.

Your role will involve contributing technical input into business discussions to help direct the wider DWP strategy, leveraging your experience in areas such as software development, site reliability engineering, DevOps, and solution architecture.

As a Cyber Security Risk Manager, you will work towards developing a good understanding of the security tools and techniques used by DWP and to be able to contribute to core security deliverables.

Summary of the responsibilities may include: -

  • Assist in providing domain knowledge and support to project teams when dealing with complex projects or issues.
  • Support the management of allocated resources, helping to achieve defined objectives and assisting in performance management of those resources.
  • Maintain relationships both internally and externally, assisting in reconciling priorities and agreeing on approach, tooling, or strategy.
  • Provide support on problems arising from specific work programmes or from implementation of proposed changes in department policy and contribute to balanced recommendations.
  • Assist in managing performance against the technical roadmap for every product within the responsible function area.
  • Support senior DWP stakeholders in the development of DWP technical strategy, including viability of improvements, estimated timescales, and means needed to implement agreed strategy.
  • Collaborate with production, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure highly resilient, secure, and available products.
  • Work closely with the delivery team to ensure alignment to DWP standards and best practices for all product development and support.
  • Improve engagement with the risk function, collaborating with delivery teams and providing advice on how best to engage.
