Summary

DWP is looking to fill one role in the Corporate Transformation directorate.

The roles available will be based in the following Corporate Hubs: Birmingham (Arena Central) Blackpool (Peel Park) Cardiff (Ty Taff) Glasgow (Atlantic Quay) Leeds (Quarry House) Manchester (St Peter’s Square) Newcastle Upon Tyne (Benton Park View) Sheffield (Kings Court).

For vacancies based in Wales the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

During a typical day as a HEO Sustainability Engagement Officer, you might start the day by responding to messages from our Sustainability Champions and other colleagues. Often a colleague will request to become a champion, so you will send them a welcome message, add them to the database and book them onto an induction session.

We work closely with the Strategic Communications team, so your next activity might be a meeting with them. You will outline your plans for upcoming engagement events, and they will advise you on your routes to audiences, deadlines and offer critique on your written content.

Successful candidates can expect to be involved in a range of the following:

  • Supporting the Sustainability Manager in a wide variety of work
  • Administration of the Departmental Sustainability Champion Network. Maintenance of the group, its TEAMs site, Communications, Design/Delivery of campaigns & Ad-hoc events. Recruitment and Onboarding of new members
  • Colleague engagement on environmental sustainability, to include co-creation of targeted high-profile campaigns with extensive reach through all available comms channels, organising events and developing intranet pages on sustainability to foster behavioural change
  • Promotion and delivery of sustainability learning opportunities (including speaking at events)
