Permanent role BG7 EYFS LSA
3 days a week 8.30 – 3.30 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Starting Date: 1st September
Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School is a one form entry Catholic Primary School in Lawrence Weston, Bristol. We are a successful school, with an excellent reputation in the local community and beyond. Our faith and values are central to our school; our mission ‘Help us to grow together in faith and understanding’ underpins all that we do.
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our highly motivated EYFS dedicated team. The successful candidate will mainly be based in the classroom providing support to all children, but will also need some experience of working with SEND children.
The role is for 19.5 hours per week. Monday to Wednesday, 8.30am – 3.30 pm. This will include some playground duties at break and lunchtime.
The ideal candidate will need to:
• have experience working with primary age children.
• have a good understanding of phonics
• Experience supporting the social and emotional development of the children and young people they are working with
• support individual children and groups, under the direction of the class teacher introducing activities and using a range of strategies to support all children in their learning.
• help to maintain individual and group records where asked to by the class teacher.
• contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities for individuals and groups.
• help prepare and maintain an engaging, purposeful, orderly and supportive environment for learning both inside and outside.
• have excellent communication skills and an understanding of speech and language development
• have high expectations for pupil learning, personal development and behaviour
• be able to work effectively as a team and develop working relationships with all members of the school community
• above all be kind, caring and enthusiastic towards pupils, parents and staff
