Our unit require a highly skilled workforce and staff will require experience in caring for patients with cancer or sickle cell disease. Staff will learn to care for patients having treatments, and learn the skills to administer chemotherapy.

We are among the UK’s busiest, most successful foundation trusts. We provide specialist care for patients including heart and lung, cancer and renal services as well as a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Lambeth and Southwark.

We have a long tradition of clinical and scientific achievement and – as part of King’s Health Partners – we are one of England’s eight academic health sciences centres, bringing together world-class clinical services, teaching and research. We have one of the National Institute for Health Research’s biomedical research centres, established with King’s College London in 2007, as well as dedicated clinical research facilities.

As a band 5 on Hedley Atkins you will be responsible for the day to day planning, implementation and evaluation of bedside nursing care. You will
independently manage a group of patients whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care.

You are wholly accountable for your practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and you should take every reasonable opportunity

You should be an effective communicator with patients and their significant people regarding their disease treatment and management. Equality, diversity and inclusion underpins our interactions with our patients and our colleagues and are core values for our ward team and wider MDT.
