Summary

WHAT YOULL DOThe main responsibilities include: To be a lead Senior Biomedical Scientist and rotationally manage, along with the other Senior Biomedical Scientists, throughput and processing of pathology specimens for Histology, Neuropathology and Immunochemistry, for screening, diagnostic and monitoring purposes and ensure provision of accurate, timely and appropriate analytical data. To manage all Biomedical Scientists, qualified, trainee and support staff deployed primarily within the main laboratory within Histology including special staining, as well as Neuropathology, Immunochemistry and other laboratory areas as required for service delivery. Specific areas of responsibility include specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, send-out, special staining as well as overseeing some aspects of digital pathology. To liaise with other healthcare professionals to maximise the effectiveness of the service. The post-holder will also support the Cellular Pathology Training, Quality and Health and Safety Leads.
