Job Overview

The Head of PBS is responsible for leading the group wide Positive Behaviour Support function. To ensure our Positive Behaviour Support offer has a measurable positive impact on people we support alongside developing our approach to reducing restrictive practice and improving STOMP scores. Provide clinical support to the team and support them to maintain and develop their professional learning. The Head of PBS will work collaboratively with operational partners and the referrals team to ensure a seamless approach to positive behaviour resulting in excellent outcomes. It is expected that the post holder will lead on maintaining processes and efficiencies whilst extending the service throughout the group.

The Head of PBS will take overall operational responsibility and ownership of the PBS offer in Liaise and work with operational and service support colleagues to deliver the strategic aims of the business by:


Ensuring our services achieve high quality outcomes for the people we support.
Compliance with UK regulations and achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings with the CQC.
Ensure homes are operated efficiently and effectively, e.g., controlling and monitoring staff and other costs and deliver against the regional budget and business plan.
Identifying ways to enhance income through placements and other business opportunities.


Leading the Positive Behaviour Support team, the Head of PBS will champion quality and the values of the organization and exhibit the highest standards personally and professionally.

Leadership


Experience of working in services for people with a learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour
Lead and develop our approach to PBS Practice Leadership
Provide clinical supervision to the team (PBS) and manage the PBS function across Liaise Group
Ensure PBS team continue to develop their practice through professional development routes, attending PBS Network meetings and engage in as well as contribute to Liaise training & development offer
Lead on developing innovative solutions to interventions and assist the Quality and Governance Director to build on different approaches that align to PBS to ensure Liaise offers the highest quality service to people we support.
Ensure the PBS team are deployed in an efficient way and become part of the process of assessment, transition, debriefs required, following up with team support, training and practice leadership.
Supporting the team to ensure Positive Behaviour Support Plans remain in date and are reviewed to a high quality.
Undertaking themselves and supporting team to complete high quality Functional Behaviour Assessments
Managing the internal referral pathway for input across services through triangulation, assignment and prioritisation.
Ensure effective partnership working with operational colleagues that supports implementation and change within individual services and the wider group. Identifying any operational barriers and supportive solutions to overcome this.
Participate in effective team working and the development of productive working relationships. You will ensure communication is effective, respectful, professional and clear, allowing you to communicate with the people you support as well as families, professionals, and our colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for the people we provide support to.
Maintain a suite of KPI’s for PBS, restriction reduction and STOMP
Provide routine and ad-hoc incident analyses
To engage regularly with the Quality Analyst and provide monthly updates on relevant team Key Performance Indicators and agreed outcomes.


Quality and Compliance


Link in with BILD/RNN and other relevant agencies to ensure our work complies with and continues to be accredited by these bodies
Engage with external providers of training and accreditation as needed
Maintain a PBS Assurance framework so we can measure impact and quality of the approaches
Support the redevelopment of our approaches to support planning and systems
Demonstrate the ability to complete behaviour assessment tools and write reports relating to behaviour to a high standard
