We are the Church of England across West Yorkshire and the Dales, with a Christian presence in every community across the region. The Diocese of Leeds is one of the largest in England, encompassing 444 parishes, 600 church buildings, and 239 Church of England schools and academies. We are passionate about communicating our mission and values creatively and effectively.

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and motivated Content Creator Apprentice to join our Communications team. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in digital media, graphic design, video production, and copywriting, all while contributing to the life and mission of the Church across the Diocese.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, design and produce creative content for social media, websites, digital platforms, and printed materials.
Create graphics, animated videos, photographs, and written content that align with the Diocese’s brand.
Support colleagues by developing reusable templates and guides.
Produce engaging slides, images, and promotional materials.
Assist with scheduling and planning digital content across platforms.
Collaborate with teams across the Diocese to ensure alignment with business goals.
Organise and store content securely for easy retrieval.
Manage digital content using relevant tools.
Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of content.

Skills, Knowledge and Aptitudes

A creative mindset and a passion for content creation
Strong graphic design skills
Knowledge of video and photo production
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong copywriting and editing abilities
Ability to present complex ideas simply and clearly
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Eagerness to learn and develop new skills

Qualifications and Experience

5 GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) including English and Maths
Experience with Office365
Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky)
Basic experience uploading content to websites
Some video editing experience for social media or websites

What You’ll Gain: You will complete a Level 3 Content Creator Apprenticeship, delivered through Barnsley College with training taking place both on-site and off the job.

Working week: Monday – Friday 9-5 although we do work flexibly with start and finish times.

Holiday Entitlement : 25 days plus 8 Bank Holidays plus for customary days (Christmas Eve and between Christmas and New Year)
