We are currently seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Müller Milk & Ingredients team at Severnside Dairy on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, making it an excellent stepping stone for those looking to start or advance their career in this sector. As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and consistency of SAP data across various production systems, both manual and automated.
Responsibilities will include reviewing and validating data entries to ensure accuracy and consistency, identifying and correcting errors, and reporting discrepancies as necessary. You will oversee SAP processes at multiple stages of manufacturing, from the receipt of raw materials to the dispatch of finished products. Additionally, you will assist the finance team with weekly and monthly tasks, ensuring seamless integration of financial data. You will be responsible for the creation, analysis, and reporting of financial information related to manufacturing overheads and waste. You will act as a finance support to the Blowmoulding team, facilitating effective communication and coordination.
This role would be ideal for a Graduate looking to kick-start their career in a financial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities as an Assistant Management Accountant:
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve underlying issues, reprocess system movements as needed.
- Vigilance: Regularly check for transactional error messages within SAP that could impact production.
- Order Review: Identify and manage open process orders, ensuring completion, ongoing use, or error correction.
- Consistency Checks: Compare process orders with previous months to identify and fix variances.
- Cross-Referencing: Match local database systems and physical stock counts with SAP to detect potential issues in finished goods dispatches.
- Stock Reconciliation: Ensure all stock transfer orders are reconciled, addressing any discrepancies.
- Project Support: Assist with projects in collaboration with the SAP System Manager.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing, Controlling functions, and the wider business.
- Finance Reporting: Support weekly and monthly finance reporting.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with designated functions as needed.
- Budgeting and Analysis: Engage in budgeting, forecasting, product costing, and variance analysis.
- Site Support: Help the site and wider manufacturing function meet targets.
Skills and Experience required for an Assistant Management Accountant:
- Organised: Able to methodically work through tasks and efficiently resolve issues.
- Action-Oriented: Drive accountability to achieve challenging goals.
- Logical: Apply a logical approach to tasks.
- Numerate: Strong numerical skills.
- Computer Proficient: Confident understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Effective communication skills.
- Desirable Qualifications: Studying towards AAT.
- Desirable Experience: FMCG experience, SAP systems experience, and Enterprise Resource Planning systems experience.
