CLINICAL ADMINISTRATOR - FLEXIBANK

One Ashford Hospital in Kent is looking for an experienced clinical administrator to join the radiology admin team.

Please note: this is a FlexiBank role working on an 'as and when required' basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during periods of annual leave or absence. Hours of work will be between 8am-8pm Mon-Fri.

Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, as a clinical administrator you will provide a professional reception and appointments system for all modalities in the Radiology Department, including:

o Being the first point of contact in person at the radiology reception desk and on the telephone for patients, hospital personnel, medical staff and consultants.
o Working as part of a highly trained and experienced team, exercising initiative and prioritising workloads whilst following departmental policies and procedures.
o Greet patients in a welcoming friendly manner, book patients into the department, confirming records of the patient details are accurate and up to date ensuring amendments are made on Compucare where necessary in real time. Perform a credit card swipe when required.
o Open/distribute and monitor emails identifying urgent referrals.
o Interpret request information to ascertain examination request and scan. Allocate and book patient requests/appointments on to the Compucare system with appropriate radiologist and/or in appropriate timeslot, ensuring patient details are correct.
o Liaise with Radiographers / Radiologists regarding vetting / protocolling requests within a timely manner and discuss concerns regarding duplicate requests.
o Book appointments in person, via telephone and post. Ensure the correct appointment letter processed indicating correct examination prep.

QUALIFICATIONS

o Minimum GCSE education or equivalent


EXPERIENCE

o Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
o 2 years relevant experience within an administrative or customer service role
