What are we looking for?

The head teacher is seeking to appoint an aspiring instructor to join this thriving specialist SEMH school. Reporting to the head teacher, they will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the department and the school are successful in achieving its aims. You will be enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in supporting young people.

Key Tasks:-

Plan and prepare schemes of work within the general curriculum guidance put in place by the head teacher/lead teacher with support from SLT.
Plan and prepare individual lessons within the schemes of work and endeavour to integrate sufficient adaptation within lessons and subject matter that all children will be engaged by the lesson.
To assess all work done by children in a constructive way and within the awarding body guidelines on marking. To supply assessment given and keep a record of attainment, progress and observations.
Display children’s work so they feel it is valued and to create an exciting and dynamic learning experience. To participate in schemes and themes in relation to displays around the school and in outside displays put on by the school.
Participate in the assessment of children by formal and informal means.
Where appropriate prepare children for examinations, standard attainment tests and other awards and qualifications as may be desirable in individual cases. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals, as necessary, in securing such qualifications and awards. Similarly, to help and encourage children wishing to take part in competitions and events – whether educationally based or not.
To prepare reports on all children taught, both for internal or external use.
Cooperate with other staff internally and from other agencies in promoting the interests of children at the school.
Participate in curricular and extra-curricular activities as required within reasonable limits.
To review with senior staff your methods of teaching, planning and recording.
To undertake professional development as deemed appropriate.
