Crynodeb
To support a young lady to access the community and increase independence. Female PA required due to there being some elements of personal care.
Hours: 3 hours per week on Saturdays anytime after 11am. Can be flexible.
PA tasks: Support to access the community like going to the shops, having her hair/ nails done, going swimming, going to a local place called Lollipops to do pottery etc.
PA will be required to drive client to places of interest, so a full clean driver’s license is required with own vehicle and business insurance. There is an opportunity to use client’s mobility vehicle, but due to insurance restrictions, PA must be 23 years old or over for this option.
Some elements of support with personal care/hygiene may be required when accessing toilets in the community. When accessing swimming, client will require support with undressing and dressing.
Client interests/hobbies: Likes to go to the local pub with her family and have a meal and drink, music, dogs, watching programmes about love/ dating programmes/ambulance programmes, watching her iPad and chilling, swimming.
Clients’ relevant diagnosis: Edwards Syndrome Mosaic 18, Scoliosis, hearing impairment, Sensitivity to bright light, moderate Learning Disability and PCOS.
Client can only walk small trips and needs to stop regularly. A wheelchair is used for longer distances.
PA required to work on a 1:1 basis. To assist to maximise independence and to access community social and recreational activities.
Previous care experience desired but not essential. This opportunity is suited for someone who is responsible, reliable, patient, and respectful of others’ privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs. You may be a good fit if you are looking to get back into work after caring for a relative or friend.
