Summary
We are looking for a motivated and passionate professional to join as a Security System Project Manager in the SSG’s Eastern Team which has its main office at RAF Wyton.
The position advertised will provide support in relation to the installation and maintenance of security systems across the Ministry of Defence and Other Government Department estates.
As a Security System Project Manager, you will act as a key customer interface, representing SSG at high-level external meetings and ensuring the successful delivery of security projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
Lead security system installation projects, including design, costing, planning, procurement, and financial control.
Oversee project contracts, ensuring delivery on time, cost, and quality targets.
Provide technical oversight of electronic security project delivery.
Ensure project finances are tightly controlled, including estimating, job costing, invoicing, and budget management.
Liaise with SSG Project Managers and Client Security Officers on key projects.
Work with the finance and commercial teams to conduct quarterly financial and performance reviews.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
Line manage the “in-house” Skill Zones and sub-contractors, directing their work effectively.
Foster strong working relationships within the SSG Eastern Management Team and wider MoD teams.
Engage with senior management levels of customers to interpret financial and technical requirements.
Represent SSG in negotiations with commercial project and facilities management companies.
Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with SSG operational delivery and future development.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with British, European, and Government security standards.
Develop and maintain risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans, and toolbox talks.
Adhere to Health & Safety policies and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
Additional Duties
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of electronic security.
Participate in SSG’s on-call rota to support operational needs.
Travel across the East of England, visiting multiple Governmental and Military sites. A non-liveried company vehicle is provided (including personal use, subject to taxable benefit).
Allowances
Where applicable, allowances are provided, including:
Travel Time (fortravel outside of core hours)
On-Call Allowance
Recall-to-duty when returning to work unexpectedly
Travel and Subsistence for out-of-region and overtime assignments.
