Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer specializing in PHP & Web Development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in server-side development using PHP, experience with web-based frameworks, and a passion for building efficient, scalable, and user-friendly web applications.
In this role, you will work closely with the Information systems manager to build, enhance, and maintain web applications and systems that power our business operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve backend development, API integration, and collaboration with frontend developers to deliver robust web solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and other developers, to deliver outstanding user experiences and intuitive interfaces.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and efficiency while ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure the codebase is maintainable, scalable, and secure.
- Debug and resolve technical issues, bugs, and deficiencies in the applications.
- Stay updated with emerging web development trends, tools, and best practices and apply them to projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Software Developer specializing in PHP and web development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., MySQL).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Understanding of agile development methodologies.
Note:
- Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Teesside area, as this is an on-site role.
