The Position: Advanced Practitioner - Maths Are you a passionate and experienced Maths practitioner ready to influence teaching and learning across a dynamic Further Education college? At North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC), we are seeking an outstanding Advanced Practitioner to join our English and maths team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual who is ready to step into a leadership role that combines classroom excellence with strategic influence. About the Role As an Advanced Practitioner for Maths, you will work across our college campuses to raise standards in teaching, learning, and assessment. Working closely with Heads of Department and Curriculum Area Leads, you will drive quality improvement and inspire a culture of high expectations and professional collaboration. Your leadership will help ensure our learners are supported by a robust and engaging curriculum that meets their needs and prepares them for future success. You will spend the majority of your time working directly with teaching staff – modelling outstanding practice, delivering CPD, leading masterclasses, and coaching colleagues to improve pedagogy and practice. The role includes a small teaching commitment, ensuring you remain grounded in classroom delivery while leading wider improvement. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a high-performing and motivated educator who thrives on collaboration and improvement. You will bring: · A recognised teaching qualification and QTS (or equivalent) · A degree in a relevant subject area · Extensive experience teaching GCSE Maths · A track record of improving teaching standards and learner outcomes · Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues to develop their practice · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · A commitment to inclusive, student-centred education and continuous professional development The Location: The role is cross-college – working at our Wigston, Nuneaton, Hinckley and Harrowbrook campuses
