The Senior Internal Communications Manager is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, supporting the Head of PR and Communications to develop and deliver the internal communications strategy for the Trust. As the lead for internal communications, supported by the PR and Communications Assistant, you will be an experienced internal communications specialist adept at advising colleagues at all levels within the organisation on best practice in engaging staff and ensuring that key messages land at the right time in the right way. You will take a lead on key campaigns, including engagement with the development plans for our Chelsea and Sutton sites and sharing news of VIP visitors, and work closely with teams across the hospital to ensure strategic projects and programmes are communicated effectively with staff. You will have a proven track record for delivering internal communications plans to engage and inform staff working in a non-desk-based environment and have experience of managing stakeholders of all levels both within and outside an organisation.
To develop and implement the Trust’s internal communications strategy, delivering a proactive plan to ensure all staff, regardless of role, feel connected to the organisation and that they have a voice on key issues. You will use both traditional and digital channels to achieve this.

1.1 Lead development of a new internal communications strategy for The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, aligned to the Trust’s Five- Year Clinical Strategy, annual operational objectives and the new Workforce Strategy.
1.2 Consider the introduction of a new internal communications email platform to enhance user experience and provide metrics for evaluation and future refinement.
1.3 Deliver the agreed internal communications activity whilst continually reviewing and measuring the effectiveness of the channels and delivery methods used, making recommendations to review and amend the strategy and tactics as appropriate
1.4 Commission an annual audit of current internal communications to inform the Trust’s future approach and use the resulting metrics and information to improve processes and delivery channels as necessary.
1.5 To develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure we hear about, and can communicate, internal news.
