Crynodeb

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinician with a professional registration (e.g. Nurse, Pharmacist) with a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification to join our community children's service in South West Essex (including Brentwood, Basildon & Thurrock). If you enjoy working in an integrated multi-disciplinary team and have the desire and skills to deliver a high standard of care for young people and families then this is the post for you.

As part of your role you will be working collaboratively with your colleagues to provide high-quality, safe and holistic care to children on the neurodevelopment pathway, especially those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for follow up and monitoring.

You will offer advice, support and clinical input to young people and their families, undertaking the role of an Independent non-medical prescriber (as per legal limitations, defined by Registration) to young people who have been recently diagnosed with ADHD and have been prescribed medication.

To offer locality based care, the team has three main bases (one in Brentwood, one in Basildon and one in Thurrock) and offers a range of community based health services to children/ young people and their parents with neurodevelopmental differences. This includes Community Paediatrics, Specialist Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,122 per annum pro rata).
