The Service
Canning Place is based in the Hilltown area of Dundee. Canning Place is a 24-hour service that supports 6 individuals within Canning Place and 2 individuals within their own tenancy. We support individuals who have learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems.
The Role
Our Supported People have varying degrees of support needs including:
•Personal care which may be intimate includes toileting, bathing and showering and dressing.
•Medication support such as administering medication, topical application of creams etc.
•Communication using a variety of tools
•Emotional, behavioural and personal safety support
•Accessing local amenities and social activities
•Daily living skills [cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping etc.
You Will
•Be a good communicator both written and verbal,
•Be organised with good timekeeping
•Be able to demonstrate transferrable skills relating to care
•Undertake a key working role that includes admin tasks and IT skills.
•Work as a part of a team and be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
•You should possess an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or undertake study to achieve this.
•Be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
