A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

• An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 months fixed-term role as Clinical Research Nurse / Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Cancer Research team in the Clinical Research Facility.
• The Clinical Research Nurses / Clinical Research Practitioners play a key role in the delivery of clinical research at St. George’s Hospital, developing and creating robust systems and processes to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently and whilst ensuring the highest of standards are maintained.
• This role involves liaison with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality data collection and clinical care, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare.
• We are very keen to meet potential applicants and would be very happy to facilitate informal visits or answer enquiries regarding the post.
• The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of an agreed Haematology - Oncology / Cancer clinical research portfolio at St George’s Hospital.
• The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.
• The post holder will be expected to advocate for patients and empower them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical research studies by providing advice and information.
• The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.

Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).



After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
