We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Paint Mixer / Trade Counter / Van Salesperson to join our team. In this varied role, you will be responsible for mixing automotive paint to precise specifications and providing excellent customer service at our trade counter. There will also be a requirement to visit/deliver to local customers to increase sales. This is an exciting opportunity, the ideal candidate will understand paint products and applications, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills which will be vital in ensuring our customers receive high-quality products and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mix automotive paints according to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Perform colour matching and adjustments to ensure accurate results.
• Assist customers at the trade counter by providing product information, recommendations, and technical support.
• Visiting / delivering to local businesses to increase awareness of our brand
• Manage stock levels of paint products, accessories, and related materials within the trade counter.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle customer orders efficiently, processing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Provide advice on paint application techniques and product usage.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
• During busy periods you may be required to help within the warehouse or for stock taking.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience in paint mixing or a related field is a strong advantage.
• An understanding of paint products, colour theory, and mixing techniques.
• An understanding of the car refinishing product market
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• A keen eye for detail and precision in work output.
• Knowledge of various automotive paint types, mixing techniques, and application methods would be an advantage
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
• A valid clean driving licence will be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A background in automotive repair or refinishing is advantageous but not essential.
• A background in retail or trade counter experience is an advantage.
• A relevant qualification in paint technology or a related field would be beneficial.
• Maths and English qualifications are preferred.
