Summary
Join our dedicated team at RSPCA Blackpool & North Lancashire Branch where your passion for animal welfare will contribute to our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need. We are looking for an Animal Care Assistant to work Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am-5.00pm
Located in Stalmine, we are a vital part of the RSPCA, the UK's largest animal welfare charity. Our self-funded branch serves as a haven for dogs, cats, small animals and birds and we operate with a deep commitment to providing the best possible care, with an emphasis on comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily care of animals, including feeding, grooming and exercising,
Maintaining cleanliness of animal enclosures and facilities,
Monitoring animal health and well-being and reporting any concerns,
Assisting with the re-homing process,
Supporting veterinary staff with basic health checks and treatments.
Requirements:
Genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare,
Strong communication and teamwork skills,
Physical fitness to handle active job demands,
Experience in animal care is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
