Skills & Experience:
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
Understanding of housing law, homelessness prevention strategies, and local authority duties under relevant legislation
Experience providing face-to-face or telephone advice and support to members of the public.
Experience working in a housing, homelessness, or support-related environment.
Experience in managing a caseload and keeping accurate records.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers in distress.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to assess needs and identify suitable housing options or referrals.
What's involved with this role: As a Customer Advice and Support Worker in Housing Solutions, you will provide front-line advice, support, and assistance to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. You’ll work with customers to understand their housing needs, prevent homelessness where possible, and support them in accessing safe, suitable accommodation.
Key duties:
Provide timely advice and support to customers on housing options, homelessness prevention, and tenancy sustainment.
Conduct detailed housing needs assessments and develop personalised housing plans in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act.
Liaise with landlords, letting agents, and support services to secure and maintain accommodation for customers.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and safeguarding responsibilities.
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective, customer-focused housing solutions.
