In-House Legal Specialist Opportunity with a leading organisation.

We are looking for an experienced In-House Legal Specialist to join a well-established, privately owned business. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in consumer law and work directly with the board of directors and management team, providing legal guidance across a wide range of business matters.

As part of a dynamic, successful and rapidly growing organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant consumer and financial laws, including FCA OR FOS regulations, and managing consumer legal challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel to the management team on all aspects of consumer law.
  • Handle and manage litigation claims, from initiation through to resolution, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Negotiate with lenders, external parties, and regulatory bodies to resolve consumer issues, ensuring compliance with FCA regulations.
  • Coordinate responses to complaints and disputes, particularly in relation to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
  • Offer legal insights and proactive solutions to customer queries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct training for the team to enhance legal knowledge and compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external legal service providers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Update and maintain legal databases to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified solicitor or paralegal with at least 2 years of experience in consumer law.
  • Proven experience managing customer disputes, litigation, and understanding of FCA regulations and FOS processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical advice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal database management.

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
