Long-Term Position
Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Lewisham (SE23) to appoint a committed and proactive Behaviour Mentor. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Primary school experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with behavioural challenges, both in and out of class
- Build strong, consistent relationships to promote emotional regulation and positive routines
- Assist in implementing individual behaviour support plans tailored to each child's needs
- Deliver tailored activities that promote social skills, self-esteem, and focus
- Support transitions during unstructured times such as playtime and lunchtime
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with behavioural, SEMH or SEN needs in a school or similar setting
- Strong understanding of primary-aged learners and behaviour strategies
- Patience, consistency, and the ability to form positive, trusting relationships
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A background in psychology, youth work, or education (desirable but not essential)
