Crynodeb
We are currently seeking a Materials Testing Technician.
Job Purpose
To undertake the physical sampling and testing of concrete, soils, aggregates and bituminous mixtures both at client sites and within our Coatbridge Laboratory.
Responsibilities
• Sampling and testing of construction materials
• Collection of materials for laboratory testing
• Completion of test sheets, including all calculations
• Liaison with Managers on work schedules
• Production of reports in line with QA systems
• Maintenance of equipment
• To work safely to avoid hazards to oneself, colleagues and /
or clients
Essential skills / competencies
• Previous knowledge/experience of site/laboratory testing of
concrete, soils, aggregates, bituminous mixtures and
experience of working in a UKAS accredited laboratory
may be an advantage, however not necessary.
• Understanding of HSE requirements / Certification Card
Scheme for Construction (CSCS)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbally
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping
• Willingness to work overtime which may also include
weekend and/or night working
• Professional approach, both in manner and appearance
• Full driving licence
• Ideally over 21 years of age
