Role overview

About Us.

PA Media Group is the UK and Ireland’s national news agency and a trusted multi-media content provider for print, web, mobile, and
broadcast. For over 150 years, we have delivered fast, accurate, and dynamic coverage of news, sport, entertainment and more. Our
innovation continues today as we develop innovative solutions for our clients and deliver compelling experiences across multiple
platforms.

As part of our IT team, we’re looking for a talented and proactive Desktop Support Technician to help us keep the wheels turning
behind the scenes—supporting our people, systems, and operations with skill, energy, and a strong customer focus.

Inclusion.

At PA Media Group, we are committed to building an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and supported. We celebrate
diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and encourage applications from all communities.

If you require adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know—we are here to ensure you have what you
need to succeed.

The Role.

This is a hands-on support role at the heart of our organisation, where no two days are the same. You will be a key player in our
Desktop Support Team, providing responsive and high-quality technical support across our sites and remote teams.

Based in our Howden office, you will collaborate with a close-knit team supporting a wide range of users - from journalists on
deadline to technical specialists on location.

Occasionally, you may travel to other UK sites or support high-profile events like Wimbledon, Elections, or the Olympics.

In this role, you will:

* Take ownership of incidents, working quickly and effectively to resolve issues and minimise disruption.
* Support, configure and maintain laptops, desktops and mobile devices across Windows, iOS and Android environments.
* Participate in large-scale deployments and system upgrades using enterprise deployment tools.
* Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
* Contribute to projects, delivering outcomes on time and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
* Keep pace with evolving tech, continuously learning, and applying innovative solutions.

About You.

We are looking for someone who brings both technical know-how and a customer-first mindset. You thrive in a busy, collaborative
environment and enjoy solving problems that help people do their best work.

You will bring:

* Experience of working in a fast-paced Desktop Support or IT Helpdesk environment.
* A strong grasp of troubleshooting Windows 11, mobile devices (iOS/Android), and hardware issues.
* Familiarity with ITSM tools and a solid understanding of incident management.
* A proactive, analytical approach with the resilience to dig into issues and see them through to resolution.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and explain tech in plain English.
* Security awareness and an appreciation of best practice in IT support.

What We Offer.

This role will offer you the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking team, working in an organisation
that values innovation and collaboration.

You will also benefit from:

* 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays
* Pension scheme with company match (up to 4%)
* Interest-free travel loan
* Life Assurance (4x salary)
* Flexible working options
* Annual Well-being Day
* Annual Volunteering Day
* Cycle to work and eye care voucher schemes.
* Employee assistance programme
