The Department The Health Care of Older People (HCOP) team resides over several wards in the hospital footprint at the Trust and comprises: 105 patient spaces The post-holder will have responsibility for Health Care of Older People patients. Within the Division of we work to our core Vision To deliver high quality, person centred care by the right people in the right place and time, delivered by an empowered, compassionate and skilled workforce within a strong Quality and Financial Governance and Assurance framework. With this in mind the approach we adopt is to run consultant lead ward rounds each day where possible. HCOP is currently supported by 5 Elderly Medicine consultants working between them to provide support and consultant level decision making into the teams. There will be opportunity to assist in the development of the team and to further develop care pathways alongside in reach and clinic opportunities. The Post We welcome applications for the post of Consultant within the HCOP service. The post holder will be responsible primarily for providing acute inpatient care to frail and older adults throughout the hospital. We can offer training and development opportunities and will support Consultants to enable them to provide a first class service. The post holder will support the embedding of new innovated ways and make the services at Rotherham more efficient for the patients and pathways. The aim of these posts is to have integral links between departments to enable close, collaborative working.
