Crynodeb
Job Summary: The clinical posts provide experience of practicing medicine across the entire medical care pathway for older adults within community and hospital settings across Lambeth and Southwark. This scheme started in 2017 and has been very successful. The posts provide excellent Geriatric and General Medicine training and are ideal for those seeking to determine whether they wish to follow a career in General Medicine, Acute Medicine, Geriatric Medicine or General Practice. Each 1 year post will rotate through a combination of the Acute Ambulatory-OPU (frailty) (situated within the Emergency floor) and GSTT @ Home (a service providing acute and semi-acute care in patients own homes) and the OPU inpatient wards. Each post also attends one speciality outpatient clinic per week and contributes to undergraduate teaching in older adults medicine at GSTT with opportunities to participate and contribute to SIM training and postgraduate training. 6 month posts are in hospital@home applying medical skills to acute care in the community combined with technology.
