What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher to join us at our College to cover a maternity. This is a part-time position working Mondays to Wednesdays and due to commence August 2025. This will last until April 2026 or until the post holder returns, whichever is the earlier. This post will be based in our Key Stage 3 department.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, flexible, enthusiastic, committed and self motivated individual who has an innovative and creative approach which ensures children and young people who have a range of special educational needs achieve the best possible learning outcomes. We are looking for the best as we continue our journey towards outstanding.

Candidates will need the following experience and qualities:-

• Experience of teaching at a special school setting (desirable)
• Evidence of being an excellent classroom teacher (essential)
• Ambition to teach special education to the highest level (essential)

This is a very exciting time for Ellesmere College as we continue to expand from 1 site to 3 sites. We have now settled into our Knighton Fields Centre and our Post-16 provision plans are in place for a new site. These additional sites provide bespoke educational opportunities for our Post-16 students and our students with the most complex needs, in particular those with communication and interaction difficulties including complex autism.
