Stepgates is a forward thinking, well-resourced mainstream primary school with a Specialist Centre for 29 children with Communication and Interaction Needs
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to enhance our support staff. If you are enthusiastic, hardworking and have a passion for working with children, we would like you to join our friendly, welcoming and well-established team.
Required as soon as possible a Learning Support Assistant, to work every day (Monday to Friday), 8.40am to 3.20pm with various children throughout the school. Experience of working with children in a primary setting and knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be an advantage.
The ability to work as part of a team and support the class teacher and other colleagues is essential.
You will have:
• Good general education with English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent qualification)
• An understanding of children’s development and the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of young children
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with staff, children and parents
• Patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure or in frustrating situations
• Commitment to the continuing professional development of self
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
