Specialist Grade Psychiatrist – General Adult Psychiatry, Blackburn (10 PAs)
We are seeking to recruit a substantive Specialist Grade General Adult Psychiatrist to work with the Pennine Initial Response Service (IRS). The post is full time and you will be based at Daisyfield Mill in Blackburn.
If the successful candidate has AC status, there will be an expectation to join the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable. Alternatively, for those without AC status, there may be an opportunity to join the 2nd On Call rota, for which there is also additional remuneration.
The team you will be joining is one of three IRS teams covering Pennine Lancashire. Each team is led by a senior medic and supported by an Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). You would provide medical input for patients based in the Blackburn with Darwen area. The post carries no responsibility for inpatients and you would not be expected to undertake acute Mental Health Assessments.
The Multi-disciplinary Team is made up of the IRS Mental Health Practitioners (Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists), Pharmacists, Psychologists and Team Leaders.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades.
It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment
