Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
2. Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations.
3. Organize and maintain legal files and documents, including electronic databases and physical files.
4. Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
5. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
6. Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
7. Review and summarize legal documents and deposition transcripts.
8. Assist with case management tasks, including calendaring deadlines and scheduling meetings.
9. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
10. Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and photocopying documents.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or related field.
2. Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant preferred.
3. Proficiency in legal research methods and resources.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
8. Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
10. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
