The Role

We’re offering a fantastic opportunity to join Graticules Optics as a Trainee Sales Engineer at our site in Tonbridge, Kent. If you’re enthusiastic, organised, and ready to learn, this could be the role for you.
This is a newly created role to support the continued growth of our business and to provide future succession planning. The position is mainly office-based, but you will also have the chance to attend exhibitions and visit customers.
You will receive full training on our wide range of technical products and their global applications, with a view to growing into a skilled Sales Engineer over time.

Key Responsibilities:
Learn and support the sales process from enquiry to order
Build and maintain relationships with customers across various industries
Assist with preparing quotes, proposals and documentation
Handle customer queries via phone and email
Represent the company at trade shows and exhibitions
Support marketing activities where needed

37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours a day, Monday–Friday)

The Person
We’re looking for someone who is:
Confident and approachable
Comfortable with numbers and written communication
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
Keen to learn and develop in a technical sales environment
Flexible and willing to travel occasionally
Experience in sales or engineering is not required, but an interest in technical products and customer interaction is important.
