Are you a compassionate and reliable individual with experience in mental health and neurodivergent support? I’m a 35 year old female seeking a personal assistant support worker to help me navigate daily life and support my journey towards independence.
About Me: I have mild hidden learning difficulties, Complex PTSD, and a developmental language disorder (DLD). I love horses and occasionally go horse riding. I know how to ski, though I haven't done so in a while. I’ve lived in different countries and attended special needs boarding schools. While I am quite capable physically and consider myself organised and tidy— one of my biggest strengths — I need support in other areas, especially in Mental Health and Emotional well-being.
What I Need:
Advocacy Support: Help with complex conversations, letters, and navigating important discussions.
Wellness Support: Assistance with maintaining a balanced diet and healthy eating habits, with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment in the process.
Companionship: Someone who enjoys going on trips, being around animals, and sharing experiences with me.
Understanding & Patience: Experience with mental health, including behavioral meltdowns, is essential. It's important to understand that my DLD means I may struggle with complex language, following instructions, and retaining information, especially in the beginning. Please don’t judge me until you get to know me well.
Reliable and Honest: I need someone I can trust and depend on this is very important for me.
First Aid Experience: It’s essential that you have first aid knowledge to monitor medication and provide support in case of self-harm situations.
Availability: I am looking for support on Fridays to Mondays, either during the day or some evenings. I will have another support worker coming on Tuesdays to Thursdays. To Support with being an advocate as well in situations where not being heard or listened to in a professional setting.

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Must be comfortable with pets
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Trauma Triggers is: facial expressions, tones of voice. This is a trauma history. This can distress me if not being understood or heard by somebody supporting me. It is important for this person to show empathy and understanding and be able to listen. Someone who enjoys giving hugs.
Additional requirements Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
