Description

As an Education Welfare Officer, you will work closely with families, schools, and community organizations to address barriers to educational access and success. Your expertise will guide interventions aimed at improving attendance, behavior, and student well-being. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to advocating for the rights and needs of children. You will be responsible for analyzing attendance data, developing strategies to promote school engagement, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement supportive measures. Additionally, you will provide advice and guidance to families and schools, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Responsibilities
Monitor student attendance and analyze data to identify trends and barriers.
Develop and implement interventions to improve attendance and engagement.
Provide support and guidance to students and their families regarding educational welfare issues.
Collaborate with schools, teachers, and other educational professionals to promote student welfare.
Attend meetings with local authorities, schools, and community services to coordinate support for students.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of interventions, meetings, and outcomes.
Advocate for the needs and best interests of students in various settings.
Requirements
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in education, social work, or youth services.
Experience working with children and families, ideally within an educational or welfare context.
Strong understanding of child safeguarding policies and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and families.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to education and child welfare.

End Time: 15:00
Pay Per Hour: £20.74
