Care worker required Urgently in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire,
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Assisting with mobility: Helping with transfers from bed to chair, using mobility aids, and ensuring safe movement around the home.
Companionship: Providing social interaction, engaging in conversations, reading aloud, playing games, or accompanying the elderly lady on outings to reduce loneliness and promote mental well-being.
Household support: Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up, laundry, and preparing meals.
Shopping and errands: Helping with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and running other errands as needed.
Monitoring health and well-being: Observing any changes in behavior or health conditions and reporting concerns to family members or healthcare professionals.
Supporting physical activities: Assisting with simple exercises or stretches, and encouraging participation in activities to maintain mobility and strength.
Accompanying to appointments: Assisting with transportation to medical or social appointments, ensuring the elderly lady is comfortable and safe during the journey.
Ensuring home safety: Making sure the home environment is safe and free from hazards, such as checking for trip hazards, ensuring that assistive devices are correctly adjusted in the the living space for ease of access.
Managing medications: Reminding or assisting the elderly lady with the proper use of prescribed medications.
Providing mental and emotional support
Making recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care.
Requirements:
The ability to drive is essential
Must have housekeeping experience
Experience with spinal cord injury patients is an advantage.
