About the College
Northumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi-million, state of the art, new college campus in Ashington, due to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college where a purpose-built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing and engineering centre will be located.
Curriculum spans technical, vocational further and higher education and includes large apprenticeship provision and dedicated centres for young people with SEND.
The College has two main campuses in Ashington, and Ponteland, and as part of the college group Education Partnership Northeast, it also has a significant number of satellite delivery centres across the region
Served by easy road links, and the new train station in Ashington, when Northumberland College opens its new Department for Education backed campus at Wansbeck Business Park, the college will boast a national trailblazer both in architectural design and operation. This major £52 million+ investment comes on top of the College recently driving £14million into new facilities and resources at its existing sites.

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Worker to join our Northumberland College at the Ashington Campus, Northumberland.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and engagement opportunities for students. Working closely with staff, students, and external agencies, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters personal growth, resilience, and employability skills.
Role Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one/group support and mentoring for students, helping them overcome personal and academic challenges.
Plan and deliver engaging enrichment activities, workshops, and events to support student development.
Promote positive wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding across the college.
Work collaboratively with staff and external agencies to provide tailored support for students.
Encourage student participation in social action projects, volunteering, and leadership opportunities.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience working with young people in an educational or community setting.
A strong understanding of safeguarding, student wellbeing, and pastoral care.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, positive, and supportive approach to working with students.
A relevant qualification in youth work, education, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
