SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4
Location: Rugby, CV22
Weekly Rate: £395-£430 (Take Home after Tax & NI)
Start Date: 28/04/2025
Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent
We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil at a mainstream primary school in Rugby. The pupil requires 1:1 support for cognition and learning needs, and daily assistance with managing diabetes.
This is a full-time, long-term position. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and healthcare professionals to provide consistent academic and medical support.
The Role:
- 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with cognition and learning needs
- Support with diabetes management (blood sugar monitoring, response to needs)
- Use strategies to support learning and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt learning tasks and materials to suit individual needs
- Contribute to progress tracking and EHCP updates
- Work with parents, school nurse, and external professionals
- Support a calm, inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting pupils with learning difficulties
- Confident assisting with medical needs
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, reliable, and supportive
- Knowledge of inclusive classroom strategies and the primary curriculum
