Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a committed and hardworking teacher to teach and inspire a crucial cohort of students within Aylsham High School for whom the experience within our Nurture provision is often transformational. We welcome applications from both primary and secondary phase teachers for this post.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established Nurture team in a school which has Nurture at the heart of its ethos. The post holder will be passionate about the role and invested in making a difference to the learning and lives of the students they work with. A willingness to learn and develop will be imperative and the successful candidate will be a highly skilled practitioner who is adept at working with complex needs and behaviours. We are looking for a calm and patient practitioner who holds a strong belief in the ability of all young people to be successful.

This post primarily delivers high quality academic, social and emotional provision for our most vulnerable students as part of a full curriculum offer based primarily within our purpose-built Nurture centre. When our year 7 Nurture students transition into year 8, they continue to access their core learning through an adapted curriculum. In year 9 this provision continues but allows students the opportunity to access our options programme two days a week.

What the school offers its staff

We believe wholeheartedly in helping teachers to improve their classroom practice and our CPD programme is incredibly strong. Every teacher gets to work with one of our highly experienced teacher coaches to help them to develop their practice and become the best teacher they can be. We are also committed to exploring evidence based practice and current research in education.

Aylsham High is one of the most consistently successful schools in Norfolk and our work is underpinned by the values of the co-operative movement. Our cohort is truly comprehensive and we are committed to being an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive school community. The school is blessed with excellent staff, great facilities, and a wonderful group of students. The support that we enjoy from parents and the wider community is second to none. We believe that if we are going to maintain and improve on the school’s achievements, we have to continuously evaluate our approach to teaching and learning and this is a theme that runs throughout our school improvement planning.

Commitment to safeguarding

Aylsham Learning Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. More details about our commitment to safeguarding can be found on our job advertisements.
