Crynodeb

The department is currently recruiting into a full-time locum consultant, with a view to potential extension or permanent opportunity. This post is a replacement post. It will help to develop the service, particularly the burns, the skin cancer and hand trauma service. However, the post holder will also support additional services as required, depending on the needs of the department and the candidate’s areas of specialist interest and training.

Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register. It is Trust policy that without CCT, an offer as Locum Consultant can be given for a 6 months fixed term contract, with possibility of it being extended for a further 6 months, but cannot go over 12 months in total.

This is a fixed term Locum Consultant post for 6 months.

A full-time Locum post as Consultant in Plastic Surgery is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital with clinical commitments at High Wycombe General Hospital, Amersham Hospital and potentially at the other peripheral hospitals our department serves. There is also scope for collaborative working with our neighbouring trusts and plastic surgery departments, as part of the Integrated Care Partnership.

This is a new fixed term post in a busy general plastic surgery and burns department that has a broad referral base. There is therefore scope to develop your interest areas of elective work depending on the service need. This post has a particular focus on skin cancer treatment, including the support of the new skin cancer service at Amersham Hospital.
