Head of Accounts | City of London | Full Time – Office based | £40,000 – £50,000 with 20% commission structure (clients closed)

F4F Group is seeking a highly experienced Head of Accounts to join our team in London. We specialise in providing professional and friendly accounting services to individuals and businesses across London. With a focus on effective accounting for businesses, freelancers, and contractors, we offer tailored solutions to meet diverse financial needs.

Are you the right person for the job?

• A qualified accountant – ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
• Extensive people management experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment, to multitask, to get into detail where needed and to meet deadlines on a timely basis.
• Ability to lead by example.
• Strong relationship and communication skills
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong skills with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks

What will your role look like?

Internal Responsibilities

• Ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounts department (including managing a team overseas)
• Implementing and maintaining strong controls and supporting the ongoing growth and financial performance across the business
• Build, develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with various departments
• Assist with the year-end audit process, deliver statutory accounts to deadlines, and ensure compliance with financial and legal obligations
• Assisting with the development and progression of junior members within the team to help them grow as professionals
• Assisting the team with reconciling customer and supplier statements, including overseas customers and suppliers
• Liaising directly with client and supplier points of contact to ensure a smooth working relationship, and that payments are made/received in good time
• Providing the Accounts department and the business as a whole with the required leadership and expertise needed to operate smoothly and effectively
• Assisting the team with invoicing client companies, including overseas clients
• Ensuring that all book-keeping of all group companies is kept up-to-date on a timely basis
• Preparation of internal reports required by management as and when required, including, but not limited to, Trade Debtors, Trade Creditors and Investments
• Ensuring regular reconciliation of all tax liabilities, including but not limited to VAT, Corporation Tax and PAYE
• Ensuring regular reconciliation of all Balance Sheet items
• You will be responsible for preparing the management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS for all group companies. This will include overseas companies
• You will be responsible for preparing the consolidated management accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS, encompassing all group companies. This will include overseas companies
• You will be responsible for the preparation of the Corporation Tax Returns for all UK companies under the Corporation Tax Act 2010
• You will be responsible for ensuring that the deadlines for all appropriate compliance are managed and that submissions are made in good time. This will include compliance with overseas authorities
• Liaising with tax advisors in respect of ongoing tax compliance responsibilities
• You will be an important link between management and junior staff, responsible for and knowledgeable about the quality of the work that is carried out for your clients

External Responsibilities

• Acting as the main accounting liaison and point of contact for certain clients
• Providing consultation services to clients with regard to tax planning, organisational restructuring or accounting software
• Assisting clients with software migrations as and when necessary
• Preparation, consultation and submission of client financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS. This will include clients under FRS102
• Preparation, consultation and submission of the Confirmation Statement for client companies
• Preparation, consultation and submission of client Corporation Tax Returns under the Corporation Tax Act 2010
• Preparation, consultation and submission of the Director's personal tax returns
• Preparation, consultation and submission of client VAT returns
• Liaising with tax authorities in respect of ongoing tax compliance responsibilities
