Senior Procurement Officer



An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Procurement Team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd.



What you’ll be doing



The Senior Procurement Officer will help to lead the development and execution of procurement strategies in alignment with
Lancashire Renewables’ procurement handbook, ensuring resilient supply chains for critical goods, services, and works. Acting as a
trusted advisor to stakeholders, the post holder will oversee end-to-end strategic sourcing from market analysis to contract
award, while complying with public sector regulations.



Driving continuous improvement, they will optimise supplier performance, ensure savings, leverage digital tools to enhance
efficiency, and champion sustainable procurement practices. By fostering collaborative relationships with internal teams and key
suppliers, they will mitigate risks, maximise value, and ensure uninterrupted operational delivery.




What you will bring



To succeed in this role, you’ll need CIPS Level 5 qualification and significant experience in a similar procurement role.



While we provide ongoing training and development opportunities, the following skills and expertise are essential:

* In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and procedures in the public sector including procurement policy, technical and
regulatory frameworks.
* Proven experience of public sector procurement work, including the delivery of standalone end-to-end procurement projects and
utilising third-party framework agreements.
* Ability to draft accurate tender documents with minimal supervision.
* Experience of producing various project reports (for example, project initiation, business case, recommended award of contract
including analysis of savings and continuous improvements being delivered).
* Analytical skills in relation to both numerical and textual information.
* Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical user.
* Ability to interpret technical information provided by stakeholders.

Who are we?



Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the
Lancashire Waste Contract.



Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual
(black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.



Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable
community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
