Title: HGV Driver / LGV Cat C1 (7.5 Tonne) Driver The Best Connection are seeking to recruit 7.5T (C1) Day Drivers to work with our client in Shildon. Our client is a flooring retailer. They have a requirement for Day drivers to support them on an ad hoc basis with ongoing work available.
The role: This is a multi-drop role with a typical day consisting of deliveries to stores with some manual handling involved; however, you will have a drivers mate to assist. Drive safely, obeying the rules of the road and following the correct client procedures. Always adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures. Complete a daily vehicle and equipment pre-trip and post-trip check using our client's reporting processes and systems. Ensure all customer delivery details are captured accurately via use of a PDA system. The candidate: Full UK driving licence with category C1 entitlement Valid Digi card and up-to-date CPC No more than 6 points on your licence with no DD, DR, or IN endorsements Minimum of 12 months commercial driving experience Hours of work: Start time is 07:00 am Tuesday to Friday Pay Rates (PAYE): £13.75 per hour basic rate for first 8 hours worked £20.63 per hour overtime rate after first 8 hours worked Benefits of working with The Best Connection: Excellent pay rates 24/7 contact with consultants Pension contributions Online payslips Holiday accrual Personal accident insurance Ongoing assignments Access to 'Perks at Work' temporary worker benefit scheme Suitable candidates will be invited to register online.
