JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a fulltime wheelchair user, with minimal quad stick use. I live in the Grangetown area of Cardiff. I need assistance with day to day activities but mainly dressing, personal care and assistance when going out to socialise in the local area. I am a brain injury sufferer who enjoys laughing however can get tired easily.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I need support socialising outside of the house, transported from the home to friends houses, coffee shops, gym, supermarkets and any appointments. Also assisting in putting shopping away after supermarket trips.
PLACE OF WORK
Grangetown area of Cardiff and travel in the area. A full driving license and use of own car is essential
HOURS OF WORK
11 hours per week, Wednesday and Fridays however this may be negotiable for the right candidate
RATE OF PAY
£14.10
TASKS INVOLVED
Assist service user with dressing (coat and hat)
Assisting in seating service user in and out of vehicle
Taking service user to necessary appointments and social activities
Putting shopping items away upon return to service users home.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Essential qualities
Reliable and punctual.
Able to respect my privacy and confidentiality.
Have common sense and initiative.
Full driving licence.
Flexible and adaptable to meet my needs.
Desirable qualities
Understands the dynamics of brain injury
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
