Job Purpose:I am a young man with autism and type 1 diabetes, who is seeking a kind and good-humoured Personal Assistant to accompany me on trips and activities, while providing gentle supervision. This role is more than just caregiving, it’s about being a buddy and companion.
I use a blood glucose monitor and may require someone who is able to supervise me when I take my insulin injections. I also take medication after breakfast and lunch, as such a PA who is attentive and supportive would be ideal.

Essential:

- The rate of pay for this position is: £12.50 per hour
- Hours and days of work: 8 hours per week, flexible – to be negotiated at interview.
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks (calculated based on annual hours worked).
- Free Care Skills training for all staff.
- If this job requires any of the following: manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals (e.g. household cleaning products), food handling, handling of medication. You will be required to undertake annual training.
- A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period.
