Job Title: Interim Project Manager - Social Care/Health Policy, Strategy & Communications
Ref number: K&C 5265057

An Interim Project Manager is needed for a short term project for approximately 6 months to develop a Carers’ Welcome Pack (CWP), targeted at Carers aged 18 and above. This is an autonomous piece of work and requires someone who is self-driven.

You will be involved in every aspect, from planning the project, researching information, generating ideas, organising and leading co-design events, determining the structure and content, drafting the CWP, planning and, as relevant, undertaking the promotion and socialisation of the CWP.

This project would suit someone with a proven background in policy, strategy and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a ‘Carers Welcome Pack’ project delivery plan and deliver to milestones.
Determine and establish co-design activity groups.
Research best in class products to benchmark against.
Research and utilise national and local intelligence and services.
Co-design requirements and content with stakeholder groups, utilising a range of engagement techniques.
Draft the Carers Welcome Pack.
Test the Carers Welcome Pack draft with stakeholder groups, utilising a range of engagement techniques.
Incorporate relevant feedback into the Carers Welcome Pack.
Develop a plan for the socialisation of the Carers Welcome Pack content.
Advise and report progress regularly to key stakeholders throughout the project.

Skills & experience:

A proven background in policy, strategy, communications - essential
Proven experience of working autonomously and delivering to deadlines - essential
Previous experience working within Social Care and or Health sector
Knowledge of Health and Adult Social Care, Carers and Carers Services, and how councils operate and work with their partners
Excellent written skills: Content is for the general public. Candidates must be able to draft for that audience highly effectively
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills: will be working with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders
Stakeholder management skills demonstrating the building of key relationships and working collaboratively with a wide and diverse range of partners in an agile environment
Confidence in negotiating and influencing at all levels, including in setting/agreeing content and managing potentially complex and challenging conversations
Experience of successfully using a range of co-design skills including group conversations, one to one interviews, survey tools etc
Excellent research skills, with experience of using research findings to influence actions & content
A strong track record of effective project planning and delivering activity to deadline.
