Job Description: Health and Social Care Assessor



Responsibilities:


  • Conduct assessments of learners undertaking Health and Social Care qualifications, from Level 1 to Level 5, including T Levels.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate assessments, ensuring they meet the requirements of awarding bodies and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to learners, supporting them to achieve their qualifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records, tracking learner progress and achievement.
  • Conduct internal moderation and verification activities to ensure consistency and quality of assessment practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with learners, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and review of assessment materials and processes.
  • Monitor and support learners in their development of Maths, English, and ICT skills, as relevant to their vocational qualifications.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to potential learners.
  • Support learners in their progression to further education or employment.
  • Liaise with employers and industry professionals to ensure assessment practices reflect current industry standards.



Skills & Experience:


  • Relevant assessor qualifications (e.g., CAVA, A1, TAQA) are essential.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment principles and practices.
  • Experience in assessing Health and Social Care qualifications at various levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support to learners.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for assessment and record keeping.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the sector.
  • Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service.
  • GCSE or Level 2 in Maths, English and ICT.
